According to this, there are sandhill cranes on the Delmarva, within driving
distance for us. Is anyone interested in spontaneously searching for a sandhill
crane tomorrow (Weds) It would be like going to the Hawkwatch, an all day field

- Comments: "Large white crane actively feeding near edge of woods in the
field. It was seen by the other observers as it came in and landed in the field
and they remained as spotters for the rest of us to arrive and see the bird.
The head and neck were easily observed with the unique red forehead area
(certainly not seen on any local great egrets or such), large dark gray bill
and white head and neck."

- Comments: "First spotted by Andrew near the top of a leafless tree. Small,
dull Myiarchus flycatcher. When it turned around, the pale yellow on it's
belly did not reach up past the birds chest. The birds central tail feathers
were very dark, with the rufous limited to the outer and bottom feathers. The
wing bars and tertials were almost silvery in coloration, making us think this
is an adult bird. Photographed, photos TBA."
