A service of the Northern Neck Audubon Society---
A quick survey of favorite local spots (sometimes referred to in birding
circles as "working my patch") yielded, near the entrance to Dameron Marsh NAP,
11 Wilson's snipe feeding in flooded tire ruts and, near the entrance to
Hughlet Point NAP, 28 green-winged teal and a gorgeous male northern shoveler
in full breeding plumage.
Also lots of Canada Geese, ring-billed gulls, robins, and myrtle warblers.
Several bald eagles, turkey vultures, mallards, flickers, bluebirds, and
white-throated sparrows round out the list
