*Coalition for Sustainable Livelihood Manager*
*(Code: CSL-M)*
The Coalition for Sustainable Livelihoods (CSL) is a place-based platform
aimed at aligning initiatives, financing opportunities and local,
governmental, and market interests to collectively drive livelihood gains
for farming communities, economic development, and improved natural
resource management. CSL’s efforts are focused in Aceh and North Sumatra
provinces and are developed with partners and processes aimed at enabling
replication as appropriate.
Alignment and action are achieved through targeted engagement and specified
activities coordinated across three levels – CSL initiative, provincial,
and district/landscape. As an initiative, CSL convenes stakeholders from
across sectors to focus on the advancement of shared goals and government
endorsed sustainable development plans in Aceh and North Sumatra. At both
the provincial and district/landscape levels, CSL provides a space for
alignment and investment to encourage the development and implementation of
jurisdictional sustainable development plans such as the Provincial Action
Plan for Sustainable Palm Oil in North Sumatra, Tapanuli Selatan’s District
Action Plan for Sustainable Palm Oil, or Aceh’s Green Growth Plan. Finally,
CSL member collaborations at the district/landscape level directly
contribute to implementation of these government supported jurisdictional
plans and achieving joint goals through integrated landscape initiatives.
To facilitate and support the integration of activities across each
strategic level – initiative, provincial, and district/landscape – a
recommended governance structure was designed through a collaborative
working group process *(structure captured in Figure 1*). Key to this
governance structure’s operation is the CSL Secretariat, composed of 4
roles: Program Lead, Program Manager, North Sumatra Manager and Aceh
Manager. The Secretariat will provide the day-to-day support necessary to
build and advance CSL, with strategic guidance from the Interim Steering
Group (which will be replaced by an Advisory Council) and as informed by
insights and decisions from working groups, members, and participants.
CSL is currently seeking a Program Manager for the CSL Secretariat. The
Program Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and
management of CSL members and participants; for maintaining, updating, and
releasing new CSL communications; and for supporting key processes and
management of strategic workplans supporting CSL’s mission. The Manager
will coordinate closely with local and international NGOs, private sector,
government, and communities as well as with CSL’s lead implementing and
governing bodies (CSL Secretariat, Advisory Council, and District Advisory
Groups). The Program Manager will report to CSL’s Program Lead and will
have no direct supervisory responsibilities of personnel.
*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*
*1. **Platform support:*
· Coordinate communication across existing, and growing members and
participants and manage CSL contact lists.
· Support CSL Lead in organizing meetings, workshops, and events to
provide a platform for CSL stakeholders to connect and coordinate on
current and future activities to promote growth, collaboration, and
coordination.
· Provide ongoing maintenance and support to CSL’s Advisory Council,
District Coordinators, District Advisory Groups, and CSL members
· Provide regular updates and maintenance of CSL’s website and manage
creation and distribution of CSL’s newsletter and email communications.
*2. **Engagement and onboarding of new members:*
· Support CSL Lead in activities and communication for recruiting
members and participants to engage and support CSL’s activities across all
operating levels.
· Support CSL Lead in identifying, engaging and managing in potential
members and current members, including private and civil society partners.
· Share communications materials (resource materials, newsletter,
etc.) to inform and build awareness and support for CSL, recruit members
and participants, and encourage support for CSL’s activities.
· Onboard new members through trainings and day-to-day support.
*3. **Management of CSL plans*
· Manage CSL phase 3 workplan timelines, progress, and deliverables,
maintaining day-to-day support and coordination across CSL’s NGO
implementing agencies.
· Where appropriate, implement standardized CSL Growth Due Diligence
Process through research and data collection, stakeholder mapping,
supplemental information collection, and summary reports.
· Produce and distribute an annual report summarizing CSL’s progress,
key milestones, key learnings, and identified next steps for the
consecutive year, and share across CSL members and participants.
· Use metrics framework and associated guidance to capture metrics
for CSL platform and provincial levels and to coordinate with each district
and/or landscape project to receive their measurements and incorporate into
reporting.
*4. **Support fundraising and management of annual fees*
· Provide fundraising support to the CSL Lead, to deliver activities
across CSL’s Phase 3 workplan, by supporting donor management, proposal and
contract agreements, and reporting.
· Coordinate closely with district/landscape leads to ensure plans,
priorities, and timelines are captured through strategic fundraising models.
· Manage collection of annual fees from members.
*5. **Coordination with landscape level implementing partners*
· Serve as the key point of contact for landscape level partners.
· Manage and support data collection across District Initiatives to
report on CSL annual progress and targets.
· Conduct trainings for CSL partners/participants in CSL reporting
and monitoring frameworks.
· Plan meetings and manage logistics and operational needs of
provincial and district meetings to share CSL progress and plans, exchange
knowledge and lessons learned.
· Conduct research and field visits to understand landscape context
and activities.
*ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES*
• Working closely with CI team members and other personnel relevance
to ensure the successful reach of goal, objective, output, and outcome
targeted of CI-Indonesia portfolios
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
• Bachelor’s Degree and/or secondary degree in agriculture, rural
international development, environmental management, conservation,
economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience working in sustainable agriculture,
commodity supply chain management, environmental management, conservation,
livelihoods and rural development or related fields, with an emphasis on
multi-stakeholder platforms or initiatives, participatory processes, and/or
government engagement.
• Demonstrated experience in project management and preparing
donor/project reports.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated, strong organizational ability, and willingness to
work on own initiative
• Experience with communications and/or marketing, website design, or
other communications tools
• Must be willing to travel domestically (regularly) and
internationally (occasionally)
• Knowledge and expertise of Microsoft Office
• Must be eligible to work in Indonesia
• Written and oral fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

· Experience working in conservation or international development and
working with bilateral agencies
· Experience in multi-stakeholder management and program management
· Fundraising experience
· Knowledge and experience with website communications/management and
web-based tools such as Squarespace and Mailchimp.
