Gender and Inclusion Manager
*KOMPAK Program*
KOMPAK is an Australia-Indonesia government partnership supporting the
Government of Indonesia's efforts in reducing poverty through improvements
in basic service delivery and creating opportunities for work. KOMPAK
focuses its efforts on three result areas:
1. Supporting Local Governments and Service Units to better address the
needs of basic service users;
2. Supporting the poor and vulnerable to benefit from improved village
governance; and
3. Supporting the poor and vulnerable to benefit from increased
opportunities for employment and economic development.
*The Opportunity*
The Gender and Inclusion Manager is part of the GESI team and provides
cross-support to the program specifically in knowledge management,
reporting and communication of KOMPAK GESI work to capture and socialise
learning, achievements and progress both internally and externally. This
position will also support KOMPAK in socialising and boosting commitment to
GESI across the program, through a combination of internal events and
learning sessions, support to teams and documentation. The Gender and
Inclusion Manager reports directly to the GESI Lead.
*This is a full-time position expected to continue until June 2022 however,
candidates with suitable qualifications who wish to be considered for
future short-term/part-time positions are also encouraged to apply.*
*Key Duties*
1. Manage the implementation of GESI activities in KOMPAK’s Annual
Workplan 2021-2022
2. Provide technical assistance to national and provincial teams in
mainstreaming GESI approach into their activities/programs, including
support to review programs guidelines, draft regulations, activities TORs
to ensure GESI principles are included where relevant
3. Support provincial and national teams to gather and analyses good
practice, learning and data to inform programs improvement in Performance
Review and Quarterly Review discussions. Follow up to ensure national and
provincial teams document changes in management information system
related to their GESI works.
4. Support GESI Lead and CKM Team in capturing lessons/stories of change
with focus on the role of KOMPAK, change brought about and key results that
contribute to KOMPAK’s framework.
5. Proactively identify and facilitate targeted GESI events within
KOMPAK at national and subnational levels (for example including
International Women’s Day, Kartini Day) as well as periodic learning events
that highlight KOMPAK’s work and bring learning and good practice from
other programs and cross provinces (to promote peer learning). Explore
other options to boost commitment to GESI, for example initiatives that
identify and celebrate GESI Champions, or promote peer learning.
6. Contribute to gathering and analysing data and information on GESI
Activities across the KOMPAK portfolio, to generate knowledge and evidence
at the KOMPAK level so that KOMPAK can effectively report on performance
against the GESI Strategy.
7. Conduct field missions to monitor GESI implementation and
performance, providing practical recommendations for improvement and
following up to check on progress. Involvement in missions may also include
helping to arrange field missions, including those involving government,
donor and other partners with a focus on monitoring and show casing of
GESI progress.

*Key Requirements*
1. A degree in a relevant field (gender and social studies, legal
studies).
2. At least 8 years of relevant experience in community development
programs, working with the Government of Indonesia
3. Demonstrated experience adapting and providing practical support
governments to utilize various tools and approaches that support gender
equality and inclusion.
4. Ability to work independently and set priorities, take initiative and
work well as part of a team.
5. Written and verbal communication skills of a high order able to
develop good drafts of reports and analysis in a clear, concise and
convincing manner.
6. Interpersonal communication skills of a high order able to forge
relations easily with a range of stakeholders including for example: civil
society, government, donors, development partners and private sector.
7. Well-developed skills in project management including project
planning, budgeting and forecasting.
8. Fluency in Bahasa and English languages.
9. Understanding of gender equality and social inclusion issues.
