10. NNT Blog

01. DINKY PAGE at http://www.dinkypage.com/#about is a free service with which you can create disposable pages on the Web. It does not provide image hosting, but if that's a consideration you can always link to some other site that does.

02. HEY! PASTE IT. Until now, the easiest way to copy and paste text from one computer to another was to transport it via a USB or other external media. Now the simplest solution, provided of course that both computers have access to the Internet, is to paste the text at http://www.heypasteit.com/ , then go to the provided link on the second computer and copy it. There's no download or installation, and it's one of those ideas I wish I'd thought of.

03. PINDAX at http://www.pindax.com/ provides a message board on which you can post text, images, files, polls, and tasks in real time. Get notification when there are replies, create groups and profiles, and control access to your board. You can search posts, send posts via email, and chat with other members.

04. ASKBOTH. By now you probably have used Bing, the latest search engine competitor to Google. Whether you like it as well, or better, than Google, you can use both at http://askboth.com and your search query will be neatly displayed for both search engines on the same page.

This is the free issue of Neat Net Tricks. If you're not subscribed to the Premium version and want to see what you're missing, just email me and I'll fix you up with the latest issue at no cost or obligation. The address is jteemsATneatnettricks.com (replace the AT with @ in your email.)

05. HELLO MOVIES at http://www.hellomovies.com/#fulfillment=online_free shows all movies available free for viewing on Hulu, YouTube, Crackle, Fancast, Jaman, and Veoh. I tried a few of these and the quality was very good, although you'll have to accept short but not too frequent commercials. Somebody has to pay the bills, after all.

06. TEXTDIFF does a fast comparison between files and folders and highlights differences within individual lines. It also provides two-way merging, text editing, search and replace text, multiple undo/redo of text changes, a report of file differences, and more. Download free at http://www.angusj.com/delphi/textdiff.html .

07. IP HIDER masks the real Internet Protocol (IP) of a user, allowing one to browse all kind of pages without ever worrying that the ISPs or any other marketing tool is monitoring surfing habits or spammers are attacking the computer. The simplest way to do this is to have traffic redirected through anonymous proxies. Download free at http://www.allanonymity.com/ .

08. VIRTUAL KEYBOARD. Choose piano, organ, saxophone, flute, pan pipes, strings, guitar, steel drums, or double bass with accompanying drum beats at http://www.bgfl.org/bgfl/custom/resources_ftp/client_ftp/ks2/music/piano/pan_pipes.htm .

09. KEYSCRAMBLER. As you type, KeyScrambler encrypts your keystrokes and this protects sensitive data (passwords, credit card numbers, etc.) from keyloggers. The personal version of this browser add-on is at http://www.qfxsoftware.com/ .

10. NNT BLOG has taken off by leaps and bounds. We try a different subject nearly every day, related to computers and the Internet. And you're encouraged to talk back and give your opinions, pro and con. It's all at http://www.neatnettricks.com/blog and you don't have to register to participate. Give a look-see!
