I'm certainly around - the death dealing super bug that landed me in
hospital and taking a trip up the river styx has been defeated. Huurah !

Seriously had a really bad mouth, eye and throat infection over Christmas
which has left me quite weak but I am on the mend now so no worries.

Over the last year and half I've become a home owner. What a mistake that
was! I thought I got the place quite cheap but with the world's economic
situation as it is I'm no longer so sure. The place was in bad need of doing
up too which has now turned into a money pit after finding one problem after
another. The latest being rotten joists under the dining room floor :(

Still at the same job (working as a software engineer at CDL, based in sunny
(joke) Stockport, North West England) which I enjoy. Got an Xbox 360 and a
super 40" high def TV to play it on. Weeeeee. Men and their toys eh. Glad I
got it when I did though as now I can't afford anything. Hopefully will get
away for a small weekend break at some point though.

Can't think of much else that has happened really as my life has been taken
up with making do and trying to get this house in order.

Great to hear from you Andy and apologise for not being in touch sooner.
Keep meaning to comment on some of your photos on Facebook but aah.. never
seem to get around to it.

Hope you and everyone else is well,

Best,

Mark.

Subject: [USS Vanguard] OoC: Getting back in touch

All,

I hope you've all been well, and I know that this list saw no activity
at all in 2008. It was a tough year for Star Trek, and I'm sure that
"real life" interfered with our online activities. I know it did for
me!

I don't know how many of you still use the email accounts associated
with this list, or if you do, you have any interest in replying.

Suffice to say I never forgot this list, I never forgot the
cliffhangers we brought our Vanguard characters to, but most
importantly, I never forgot any of you! I've been curious about each
of you, how you've been doing, what you've been up to, both online and
off-, and whether you think about this list and bringing some
resolution to the various characters we created for Vanguard.

At the very least, I'd like to post the final Vanguard web page as it
appeared, and post the roleplaying emails we wrote. They were all so
good, each of them, that I think they deserve a wider audience.

Please write back. Let us know how you're doing, how life has been
treating you, what you've been up to, and whether you have any
interest in participating in one more adventure for the crew of the
Vanguard. I'm up for it if you are. But I need at least a few writing
partners! And I promise, you have my word, that if we continue, we
will at least finish this "mission" (which was our last/previous
mission, I suppose).

I hope this email finds you happy, healthy and well, no matter where
you are. I look forward to any replies.

Best,

Andy (Santos)
