I had this Tort a couple of nights ago, and as I leafed through my new field guide I thought that it might be Platynota exasperatana. But BG lists the flight period as July and August. There is a photo there that is very close to my moth - http://bugguide.net/node/view/608193. And since we had no noticeable winter and plants are blooming and leafing out several weeks ahead of schedule, maybe the moth arrived early as well. Or have I just failed to dig deeply enough into MPG and BG? Harry Wilson Zebulon, NC
