Now here's where I disagree with Mike, and think he's even crossed the line!
We all know about Windows. We all also know that it is the most common desktop OS out there. It didn't get this way by anything except it's technical superiority. We all know that it's really the one true way to computing nirvana. Denigrating the world's OS is not acceptable. Claiming that it suffers from virii is also unacceptable. Yes, there are free programs out there that utilize undocumented features of our favorite OS, but those programs have a noble goal of spreading their enhancements to the word. We should be thankful that the authors of those free programs are as generous as they are! Without their goodwill and generosity we would be without the added functionality of those programs. Imagine how boring and bland the Internet would be without them.

I think we should all humble ourselves to the likes of Mr. Gates, Mr. Ballmer, and the thousands of independent programmers who have blessed us with their superior solutions. I'm going to wipe my drives of everything but Windows and the millions of free enhancement programs that are available, at my earliest convenience.

Heck, I propose that we change the name of our user group to something like NCOWPVUG -- North Central Ohio Windows Plus Viruses Users Group.

Chuck's hit it on the head here... I don't dislike the links; in fact, I like that may of us read the same things. What I don't like is just being sent a link.

Why did you send it?
What are your thoughts on the technology/news?
Do you have any further information on the topic?

I'm with Larry, I don't follow blind links too often. It's a Windows throwback.
See, there is this OS out there called Windows, and it gets these things called viruses (virii?). Well, one thing that a virus can do is send out a bunch of emails with a link to an infected server. Simply by viewing the website your Windows system can be infested. Why would anyone run this OS, you may be asking... well, see it comes free on PC's you buy. That's the only reason I can come up with. It's such a heap that they actually give it away. Then once they have you hooked, they release another version and charge you for an upgrade. Bait and switch; the only problem is the new bait is rotten too.
