I'm with Stick here... the disk error should only show when the system is
unable to boot to whatever devices are set before it in the BIOS boot
order.  I have see some quirks with Linux boot CDs on systems with bad HDDs,
but those situation were scrolling messages saying that there was some sort
of bus time out.

I'd have liked to have seen this issue.
