No, it's an example of a convenience feature that comes with
the default .namarc.
I created a test project and imported an wav file. When I press space to
play, I can't hear anything. The command `ecasound <filename>.wav' sounds
correctly. Any ideas?
Please look at the output of the 'chains' command to see the Ecasound chain
setup.

I see that cpanspec generates an RPM. That seems like a
reasonable way forward.
Just to let you know, there is also a tool called local::lib to
install CPAN modules in user directory without root
permissions.
