I disagree with all of you. There's a nice group of players which is growing
and hopefully welcoming to new players. When you have someone who's mean,
hateful and aggressive it can run a lot of new and not confident players away
and even prevent us from finally having a true pickleball club. So to try and
keep an eye on how we treat each other to me is not out of line at all.

This is a special noteabout the PB group that plays three days a week in
Montague and twodays a week at the Y in Yreka. I think it would be good to
reviewhow PB got started in this area and by whom. This all began at theFord
Garage in the office of Jim Wilson when he and I sat down anddecided to get PB
going in this area. At first we were going to playat the tennis courts in
Yreka; however, we encountered someresistance from the local tennis players, so
we migrated out toMontague and asked the Montague city council if we could
makearrangements to play on their tennis courts. We did receive a
littleresistance from a supposed tennis player, but that was soon dispelledand
we began play at the Montague courts.
We have been playing inMontague ever since, and for the most part I have been
the one thatreminds our players to come play. Jerry Guse has helped me out
inthe winter when I have been down south. The point in reviewing allof this, is
to remind everyone that we do not have an organized groupand we do not have a
representative that can tell people in our groupwhat to do. Everyone is welcome
to play. If a member of ourgroup finds that they do not want to play with
another member, theydo not need to do so.
None of our members havethe right to tell another member of our group that they
can no longerplay with our group! In conclusion I want to make it clear
thateveryone is welcome to play.
Thank you,
