I don't know how many of you use a multiple-button mouse, but I notice that Apple's recent OS's (9.2-10.3) have built-in functionality for two-button/scroll wheel mice. I recently purchased a Macally "DotMouse". It's an optical mouse, with two regular buttons and a scroll wheel+button. The left and right click buttons provide normal and control-click functionality just by plugging the mouse in. As well, the scrolling function operates immediately. You must install Macally's software to program the scroll button or to change the other button functions. This mouse is smaller and more comfortable than Apple's standard issue and has an incredibly nice feel to it. And since I've gotten used to the right click bringing up the control-click options, Apple's control-click process seems like an awfully inefficient use of the left hand. You can find a technical description at: http://www.macally.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=30 The "dot" refers to a high-intensity blue light emitting diode (LED) in the mouse.
