As there seems to be some interest now in possibly having a MUGLO Forum, and as I have had some experience now with running one, I would be happy to set one up for members to try and, if we don't want it, I can then delete it! I will await your response to the idea!! I run a forum dedicated not so much to Mac users specifically, but more generally aimed at Creativity, and more specifically to Responsible Creativity. You can check it out at http://www.theflue.org if you're so inclined. It is a heavily modified installation of PunBB, but forum installations can be much simpler, and as Gerhard said, free. The nice thing with forums is they can be a valuable source of information for a long time, and most are quite easy to search. The membership is what's of the most value however, along with how they interact as a community (which I think would be safe to say that we have a pretty solid community in MUGLO) Just my .02 lc_Chris On 18-Mar-08, at 8:15 PM, Gerhard Kuhn wrote: To me I find Forums much easier to use and they can be hosted at free sites with the software provided for free. What I like about them is that you set it up that you have various topics of interest, i.e. we could have Hardware and then sub-categories like notebooks, desktops, accessories etc., then an iLife Forum with the various applications as sub-categories. These places allow you to link image files into your postings. When it has been around long enough it will be a valueable resource as you can easily browse topics of interest and they have a very effective search function. One such place that provides forums like that is: http://www.forumsland.com/free-forum-hosting.html Gerhard ----------------------------------------------------------- MUGLO information at <http://www.freewebs.com/muglo> Manage list subscription options at <//www.freelists.org/list/muglo> ----------------------------------------------------------- Looking for the perfect gift?
