Hi Doug The world is divided into a number of regions so that (normally) one can only play disks recorded in the same region; N America is region 1 and Europe is Region 2 so that if you purchase a DVD from Europe, particularly the UK, you cannot (normally) play them on a N American player, unless you have one which permits both! Also iDVD 0n the Mac allows you to switch back and forth but only 5 times and then it's fixed at the last setting!!! I hope this helps Paul On Oct 7, 2007, at 12:50 PM, Douglas Feick wrote: > What is a "region" for CD's and DVD's that you are talking about? > This is new to me...Doug > ----------------------------------------------------------- > MUGLO information at <http://www.freewebs.com/muglo> > Manage list subscription options at > <//www.freelists.org/list/muglo> > ----------------------------------------------------------- > ----------------------------------------------------------- MUGLO information at <http://www.freewebs.com/muglo> Manage list subscription options at <//www.freelists.org/list/muglo> -----------------------------------------------------------
