Well sort of both. But also I'm wondering if there is a way to get a
line item to duplicate itself from the bank account worksheet, which is
where I will do the data entry, into the worksheet about the specific
property. One of the "fields" in the bank account worksheet is the
property the transaction pertains to, so I wanted to see if that field
entry could trigger an automatic entry into another worksheet about that
property only, so I could have a separate list of all the transactions
related to each property. Does that make sense?

Hi Elise....what exactly do you mean by "linking"? Do you mean
hyperlinking so when you click on a cell, you go directly to another
sheet in the workbook? Or do you mean you want a value to change on one
sheet when you change it on another?

Subject: [mso] linking worksheets in Excel

Hi folks,
I'm trying putting together an Excel workbook for a small property
management business. I want to use one worksheet to list itemized
transactions in the checking account and one sheet for the same kind of
thing from the savings account. My question is, many of the
transactions are related directly to one specific property (i.e. deposit
for November rent from House A, or a check for fixing the roof on House
B), and I'd like to be able to link the transactions to additional,
property-specific sheets within the same workbook. Is there a way to do
that in Excel, either with simple linking or with some kind of macro or
VB coding? The goal of course is to not make any entries twice.

Thanks,
Elise
