Some things you can try:
Make sure Find Fast is not turned on and running in the background. Go
to msconfig and see if it's there. Also, if Office is there, uncheck
that too. Find Fast may also appear in your control panel, depending on
the version of Office and Windows that you are using.
In Words, Tools>Options, click on the Save tab and uncheck Always create
backup copy (if it's checked)
Same place, also uncheck Allow Fast Saves
Delete temp files, run defrag, etc...all the stuff you do when resources
are a problem. Also, how much RAM do you have?
And again, please include the version of Word that you are using when
you post these questions, since this makes a difference.

I'm asking this question here and if it is not something that you all
experience, I will ask on the Jaws group that I belong to, because I
don't know if this problem is inherent to Word or if it is a Jaws thing.
I've noticed some keyboard lag when typing in word. this keyboard lag
doesn't occur in other programs such as wordpad, notepad, and Outlook
Express.
Is there anyway that I can decrease the lag.
It kind of reminds me of typing on one of those typewriters where you
hit the key and the striker is delayed by a few milliseconds.
