[mso] keyboard lag in Word

I'm asking this question here and if it is not something that you all
experience, I will ask on the Jaws group that I belong to, because I don't know
if this problem is inherent to Word or if it is a Jaws thing.
I've noticed some keyboard lag when typing in word. this keyboard lag doesn't
occur in other programs such as wordpad, notepad, and Outlook Express.
Is there anyway that I can decrease the lag.
It kind of reminds me of typing on one of those typewriters where you hit the
key and the striker is delayed by a few milliseconds.
