Susan,
Amazing as it sounds, you do it just as you do the decimal tabs in regular
text. With your cursor in the first cell to be aligned, add a decimal tab
using the ruler. Then, use the format painter to paint the format onto the
other cells to be aligned. As you apply the formatting change to each cell,
the decimal alignment will change to incorporate the number in the new cell.

(To set the decimal tab: Make sure the ruler is visible (View--> Ruler). At
the far left of the ruler is an indicator of which tab you want. Click that
indicator until it shows the tab indicator that is an inverted T with dot to
the left of the crossbeam. Click in the ruler where you want the alignment
to be. Your cell should re-align.)
