Actually, you can't in this case. I was waiting to find out what's the deal
until I did anything and I checked with several MVPs during the NYC launch
and they all said uninstall it and it'll work fine. If not...you'll have big
issues. I know several had problems posted and we learned that it's just
cos' they didn't uninstall first. But many then said once they
uninstalled...all their email, contact, settings, etc were still intact and
everything was wonderful with the world.

So....one of these days when I have time.........

You probably can (I *sometimes* take this vector) but it's always a poor
recommendation for fairly obvious reasons. In addition, preview copies
should also be uninstalled and replaced but for a slightly more insidious
reason. In recent years, early preview copies will be of a build number that
isn't supported by security patches and you find yourself in the middle of a
worldwide worm attack and unable to plug the security hole in your
installation.
