The registry edit did the trick. If you have an explanation on why the data
key file was corrupt I would be interested. Many thanks for the info.

After shutting down Word2000 only, and restarting same, I have lost all tool
bars and address line. The only display is a blue bar across top of screen,
a slider bar top and right.
I have replaced normal.dot without effect.
How do I get back to the original setting?
