Your formula shouldn't contain HOUR and MINUTE functions. Try this:
=TIME(VALUE(LEFT(T2,2)),VALUE(RIGHT(T2,2)),0)

Ok, this wasn't my idea. This *was* in text which I converted into
Excel, also text.
Date & Times have been entered as 198008110930 (YYYYMMDDHHMM format)
which makes that August 11, 1980 9:30am. The dates are all 1980s dates.
Ok, I have no problem taken the first eight text digits and turning that
into 2005-08-12, however the time part I need help with. When I use:
T2=0930
=TIME(HOUR(VALUE(LEFT(T2,2))),MINUTE(VALUE(RIGHT(T2,2))),0)
I get 12:00AM, not the desired 9:30AM. With my formula above, didn't I
say:
=TIME(9,30,0)
??
The =TIME(9,30,0) works out to 9:30AM just fine, but when I do it from
text
to values, no it doesn't. Does anyone see why, please?
