Thank you Ray for your quick reply. Maybe the following notes will help you understand my problem! The document (a purchase order form) was created in Excel97 using a macro to add in an autonumber. Opening the document in ExcelXP, we keep getting a dialogue that says ?the numbering add-in must be loaded for optimum numbering and toolbar behaviour. Please reload etc?.?. We reload all the add-ins from the original OfficeXP CD and the macro toolbar appears. HOWEVER, when we next open the document, up comes the same dialogue again. So, How can we get these add-ins to stay added? Next problem is that when we click on the Autonumber icon in the macro toolbar another dialogue tells us Macros in this workbook are disabled because the security level is high and the macros have not been digitally signed or verified as safe?. It seems to make no difference setting the Security level to Low. Should I go through the instructions in Help for creating a digital certificate or am I looking in the wrong area? Is it easy enough to do? I would appreciate any advice thanks, Roger Subject: [mso] Autonumbering in Excel From: "Roger" <rogerbid@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 18 Aug 2003 01:38:58 -0400 (EDT) Hi, After upgrading from Windows98SE/Office97 to WinXP/OfficeXP an Excel document in regular use (which had been autonumbered) is no longer giving the option to autonumber! The person who created the document has left the company and we are at a loss to know how to reinstate this function. I hope someone can assist, Thanks in advance, Roger From: "Ray Blake" <ray@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: [mso] Re: Autonumbering in Excell Date: Mon, 18 Aug 2003 06:48:13 +0100 Roger, It's not immediately obvious what you mean by 'autonumbering'. Please describe what the Excel file does in more detail. What aspect is it which has some sort of automatic numbering, and at what point of running is an number allocated, for instance?
