[mso] Questions about Upgrading Outlook from 2000 to 2002

I just purchased a new Pocket PC - iPAQ 2215 which runs Outlook 2002. The
CD that came with it to set up the Active Synch tells you the first thing to
do is install Outlook 2002 which is included on the CD. However, my desktop
uses Office 2000. The instructions do go on to say:

If you don?t have Microsoft Outlook 98 or later installed, please install
Microsoft Outlook 2002 now. Even if you have Outlook 98 or Outlook 2000
installed, you are encouraged to upgrade to Outlook 2002.

I've written a separate note to HP support about what problems I might have
on the iPAQ side if I don't install Outlook 2002. My question for this
group is whether installing Outlook 2002 on my desktop would be a problem on
the desktop side if the rest of the Office applications remain 2000
versions.

Any help would be appreciated.

Diane
