Just means there's nothing to compact. If you're not convinced, to prove its working okay, simply copy and paste a few emails in from any folder and then put them into your deleted folder. Do this several times till you've got a few hundred messages in there. Then check the file size, then delete the messages and do a compact. You will hear it running for a while, and your file size will decrease. When I click the compact now button, the "compacting" window comes up for about 2 seconds, then goes away. I'm running Outlook2002 on WinXP in standalone mode. Thanks.....Peter ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=unsubscribe Or, visit the group's homepage and use the dropdown menu.
