Dan, I did have a backup of all my Email stuff (force of habit to backup daily). I installed Outlook 2000 on the Win7 machine. Imported messages and accounts from OE6 successfully. It won't let me import the contacts because it wants the wab file, which isn't on the Win7 machine (or if it is, in a different location than it was). The address book in Live Mail/Win7 is different than the one MS used earlier. e.g. I imported all my contacts. Previously I could sort the contacts into folders. When I wanted to send an email to people in the folder I opened the folder and selected who in the group I wanted to send to. Now, in the new address book/contacts I did all the sorting but a) when you view the contacts from the To you can't get to the folder, they are all mixed in together with other contacts b) Accessing the folder list from another direction (sorry don't remember how I did this) the wrong people were in the folder. I just retried it. If you double click on the folder name it will send to everyone in the folder. You can right click what was added to the To and it will show everyone it is going to send to. But the old way I could look at the list in a folder and select a few to send to. Now they want you to add everyone and delete who you don't want to send to. Seems like more work to me. <wink> Have spent hours retrying Thunderbird over and over, it just doesn't do what I wanted. 2 people have contacted me offline to confirm that Outlook will do what I want. So other than someone knowing how to fix Outlook 2000 and save me some money, this issue is resolved. Thanks to all that replied. S.
