Windows Live Mail is what MS suggest in place of OE.
Outlook 2000 used PST files, it was Outlook Express that used wab files.
You should be able to export you address book from old computer and import
it into a new program.
Thunderbird does allow you to chose the from address in outgoing emails.

I got a new computer. It came with Win7 and IE8 hence no more Outlook
Express. <pout>
When using Outlook Express I could have different From: lines for the same
email address. e.g. When I post my lessons it said one thing, in another
mailing list it said another, etc., all coming from the same email address.
What I want to know is if I get the latest greatest Outlook will I be able
to do this? I have Outlook 2000 but it won't work because it wants the
address book the way MS use to do it, wab, and won't let me pick something
else.
Thunderbird you can't. Windows Live Mail desktop you can't. Both of these
record an email address and only let you set it up once. In OE I could set
the same email address up as many times as I wanted.
