Once you say database, everything you're doing changes. The Outlook
database system is pretty solid (much better than the mixed
flat-file/relational system used by OE) but it still bears all the marks
of traditional DB systems. They don't work like the rest of your system
so don't be surprised when you have to treat them differently. I think,
personally, that this is part of what makes users so much more fond of
Access. It has all the flaws of a limited relational DB but it has
usable tools that operate like the rest of your applications. Outlook
does a similarly nice job of hiding (errr, abstracting the presence of)
a database from you. Generally, that's a good thing.<g>
