Linda- Would this solve your quandary? When you send a file, rename it. At least, rename the extension portion. When I send a cousin a GED file, I rename to filename.GGG, and tell him/her to rename back to filename.GED. You could send an EXE file as filename.exx, but be sure to tell your intended recipient s/he has to rename the "exx" to an "exe" Sometimes I even just rename it with a TXT extension. Ignore Microsoft's warning this may corrupt a file- so long as the recipient changes it back, both of you are ok. What do you think?
