My $.02:

I use Outlook XP with SpamBayes
(https://sourceforge.net/projects/spambayes/)

It's a free tool being developed in the open source world and is based on
Spam scoring techniques which allow the software to 'learn' what's probably
spam and what isn't. I haven't had a 'false positive' with it yet! And, the
amount of spam getting through to my Inbox (and remaining
there) is below 1% daily now. It also appears to be very light on the
performance of Outlook (I'm using the plugin offering instead of the Python
scritps).
