>how to NOT open in Outlook Today, how to turn OFF the Outlook Bar,

Alternatively, I find Outlook Today useful as a reminder for what you have
in store for the week regarding tasks and appointments.

I know when I was at Morningstar, as project manager, I had a lot of
meetings to attend. So it was quite helpful to start the day by viewing a
list of meetings for which I was scheduled...rather than having them pop up
5 mins beforehand! I preferred to get a grip on what I had planned that
day/week.

And if you're working as a supervisor, it's also nice to see the list of
tasks in the list. Not only for myself, but the ones I'd assigned to others.

Granted, I don't use OL Today much at home...but at the office I find it
very valuable...particularly on Mondays so I don't forget about important
issues that week.

I'll explain all possible ways of working it so the user can make their own
choice.

However, I'm totally freaked out about this button not working! I don't ever
remember it not working, but this happened to me, too. I thought it was just
me. Obviously not!<sigh> So I've posted to the MVP group to see if someone
can enlighten me and I'll pass on any info I might get.

Thanks!

Well, it's good to know that I'm not alone on this one...LOL

I doubt I would ever even have noticed this if Dian hadn't asked this
question...I never use "Outlook Today"...I prefer to open up in my
Inbox...Outlook Today is just wasted space as far as I'm concerned...even
when I teach Outlook classes, the first thing I teach people is how to NOT
open in Outlook Today, how to turn OFF the Outlook Bar, and how to turn ON
the Folder List....then Outlook makes much more sense, IMO...especially for
the average user, who is used to Windows Explorer
