Thank you for the quick response, Jens.

At first, I entered your formula incorrectly by not adding a closing
parentheses after the +1 and received an additional 100% to my total. (e.g.
instead of 43% on an active task, I got 143% planned). When I checked the
formula, I realized that I had forgotten the "third" closing parentheses and
added it in. Unfortunately, I got a syntax error.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Excell does only count full days hence the reason you are always a day
short. The simplest solution is to add a day to your calculations. So, if
you just
Str(CInt(IIf(Date()<[Start],"0",IIf(Date()>[Finish],"1",ProjDateDiff([Start]
,Date())/([Duration]+1)))*100))+"%"

I believe that will do the trick for you.

[mso] MS Project Formula Assistance - anyone?

Hi everyone,

I am a project manager working with Microsoft Office Project 2007. I need
to set up my Project Schedule to include a column that indicates the "%
planned" of a task. (How far along SHOULD I be in this task?) The columns
that could potentially impact this result are "Start", "Finish" and
"Duration".

If, "Start" is 10/1
And, "Finish" is 10/12
And, "Duration" is 10 business days

Then, by 10/5 we "plan" to be 50% completed.

I provide a status at the end of each week and I need the formula to
calculate that day when I send the report at 3pm. Currently it doesn't
calculate until midnight. Therefore, my planned % is always a day behind.
Can anyone help me modify this formula to calculate one day sooner?

Thanks very much,
Debbie
