[mso] Re: MEMBERS. VOTE NOW ( was Moderation...or Censorship?)

But this is JUST about office. It isn't Access is better than whatever
its counterpart is in Unix (if there is such a thing) So the discussion
was right on topic vis a vis that. And in an earlier post you said soon
there'd be political discussions--that's not the case. Linda will keep
it on topic--microsoft office, not Unix, not Republicans, not even
toilet flushing for very long (thanks for that Linda).

The question isn't moderation or no moderation. The question is, should
a discussion of the comparable benefits of the different applications
WITHIN Office be allowed. I say yes. It is slightly higher order than
"I can't get Access to add" and it might prevent me, in particular, from
choosing the wrong application for my needs because through discussions
like this one I've learned when I can safely stay in Excell and when it
is best to go to Access. TOTALLY valuable. If I didn't want to hear
only about the applications on my machine (which is NOT the case) then
I'd go join a group about mso vs. Unix or (even more not the case) pc
vs. Mac.

I've already voted so don't count that yes again.

Jim, yes, however, I administer both MS and almost all UNIX types, and
it gets a bit irritating with the MS people coming into lists and
pushing products... I keep quiet about things like that, but don't

like to be pushed like that, as the vendors I do business with have
found out.
