YES I think discussions like this are somewhat helpful ... moderation only needs to take place when the moderator feels that all has been said that can be said on the topic. If one were a chairperson, one would call a halt to a discussion, summarize it and ask if anyone had anything further to add. I did think that rather too big an issue had been made of the protocol by some people - and, as far as I was aware, that was after Linda left to give a class yesterday.
