I put all the scripts into VB yesterday regarding the AutoFitMergedCellRowHeight but when I opened the document today, all the scripts are gone. I saved them. Any ideas? Ah. Just saw this after replying to your earlier post. One thing you could do if you want it to happen automatically is to put the code in a worksheet event so that it runs automatically on a given event - say on any cell being changed. If you do, you'd probably want to put some code in to checked if the selection was a merged cell, because otherwise running the macro every time there was a change would really slow things down. This might be an over-complex solution for your problem. The alternative might be to put a button next to the cell concerned that says something like: "Repair cell height" and link this to the macro. To do this, right-click in the toolbar area on a blank grey area and select the 'Forms' menu. Hit the icon that is a grey rectangle and click and drag to get a button on the sheet. You can right-click the button for a dialog to attach a macro to the button. Ray _____________ This email is from Ray Blake, Head of Software Design, GR Business Process Solutions. I have run Ray's script regarding AutoFillRowHeight but how do I tell it to "run" after the user hits the Enter key so that it automatically runs? Sorry folks, I'm just learning VBA. My research led me to this code which I found in an old issue of the Excel Experts ezine, here: http://www.j-walk.com/ss/excel/eee/eee011.txt Macro by Jim Rech: Excel does not support automatically adjusting the row height of a merged cell with wrap text set. This procedure serves as a workaround. Sub AutoFitMergedCellRowHeight() Dim CurrentRowHeight As Single, MergedCellRgWidth As Single Dim CurrCell As Range Dim ActiveCellWidth As Single, PossNewRowHeight As Single If ActiveCell.MergeCells Then With ActiveCell.MergeArea If .Rows.Count =3D3D 1 And .WrapText =3D3D True Then Application.ScreenUpdating =3D3D False CurrentRowHeight =3D3D .RowHeight ActiveCellWidth =3D3D ActiveCell.ColumnWidth For Each CurrCell In Selection MergedCellRgWidth =3D3D CurrCell.ColumnWidth + MergedCellRgWidth Next .MergeCells =3D3D False .Cells(1).ColumnWidth =3D3D MergedCellRgWidth .EntireRow.AutoFit PossNewRowHeight =3D3D .RowHeight .Cells(1).ColumnWidth =3D3D ActiveCellWidth .MergeCells =3D3D True .RowHeight =3D3D IIf(CurrentRowHeight > = PossNewRowHeight, =3D _ CurrentRowHeight, PossNewRowHeight) End If End With End If End Sub It worked for me.
