There is a limit to what can be wrapped.  I did count it at one stage, but 
have now forgotten.  I seem to remember it was somewhere near 1,000 
characters.

Beyond the limit, Excel just stops wrapping for some reason, and the 
remainder goes off to the right of the cell (but invisible).

IRC this is a character count limit and the width of the cell makes no 
difference.

The limitation applies in versions up to and including Excel 2003, but 
hopefully it's fixed in Excel 2007.

AFAIK there is no way round it.  I simply split cells that need to hold 
large amounts of information.
