If your cells where you put the dates is A1:A33, in A34 put =COUNTA(A1:A33)

In P45, put =G45/A34

Or, you don't even need to use A34, just use =G45/(COUNTA(A1:A33))

Subject: [mso] Re: Excel Question

Christine,
I don't think I explained my problem correctly and I have no idea where the
3D part of that formula came from. Anyway, here it is: I have column A
where I will input a date each day for a month. At the bottom of column A,
say it is cell A34, I want a total of the number of dates I have entered up
to that date. When I try to total the dates I have entered in cell A34, it
does not come out with a number. First, what do I use for the formula in
cell A34 so it will give me the number of dates I have entered in column A
up to that point. In other words, after I have entered only 7 dates, I
would want the total in A34 to show the number 7, after 20 dates, I would
want the number in A34 to be 20, etc. I have a cell G45 where I have a
total number obtained from numbers entered in several other cells. Each
day, I want cell P45 to give me a number obtained by taking the number in
G45 and dividing it by whatever number is in cell A34. For some reason, I
can't make it work. Is it just a case of formatting the cells? Can you
give me the exact formula that should be in cell A34? If I can get that,
then I assume that the formula in cell P45 should be G45/A34, correct? Or
should I be able to use the formula G45/COUNTA(A34) in cell P45? Is this
clear as mud? Thanks.
