Parker- MS Access has built in security that allows permissions to be set for users and groups. You can set permission at the table/query level. That being said, don't try this at home. It always seems to break leaving everyone locked out including the creator. The only fix is to start over. Personally I have never tried it, I do know the bad experiences out number the good ones. How do you plan to distribute this? In an Application? Web? Something else? -Anthony -----Original Message----- From: Renaud, Parker [mailto:PRenaud@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, September 12, 2002 1:45 PM To: Microsoft Office Group (E-mail) Subject: [mso] Excel / Access Security The head of our commercial leasing department has requested that I create a database or spreadsheet for information on leased properties, including square footages, tenants, lease terms, expiration dates, owner, leasing agent, etc., etc. That is no problem, but the kicker is that he wants secure the information so that he and I have access to all of the information, but the individual leasing agents only have access to the information for properties on which they are the leasing agent and to the statistical summaries. Is that possible in Excel or Access? I appreciate your help on this.
