[mso] Error Messsage: "Removed Feature: External formula ..."

A friend asked me to help him with a problem he's having with an Excel
spreadsheet (Excel 2007). Apparently he receives a spreadsheet from a customer.
He is able to open it and make changes and saves it. Then later, when he tries
to open the spreadsheet again, he gets the following error messages:

WHAT THE HECK DOES THIS STUFF MEAN?
