I had looked at everything in "Tools > Options" .  I never even saw the
"Autocorrect Options" entry!

One oddity:  I had no problem editing six of seven email addresses, but in
that one last instance, the link just wouldn't die (even after I deleted the
entire contents of the cell, and tried to re-enter afresh).  I finally copied
everything else to a new row and then deleted the offending row.

With your help, my problem is fully solved, but I am curious about the one
zombie mailto link.
