Hi Linda! I did what you said below. It got me closer but no bananas. It worked on the top 2 but example #3 it didn't. Also, when I go to take column D x rate per hour it gives me a error. After determining the number of hours worked I want column e to be d * rate per hour = $$ to give me total $ earned for the day. I thought this would be simple but I must be missing something. Thanks for your help. I know Excel is capable of doing what I want to do but just finding the right combination of formating the clock in and out and formulas to determine the elapsed time in hundreds * rate per hour. Have a great day! Gary :-) ________________________________________________ Get your own "800" number Voicemail, fax, email, and a lot more http://www.ureach.com/reg/tag ---- On Tue, 25 Jun 2002, Linda Johnson (linda@personal- computer-tutor.com) wrote: > > Hi Gary > > Format column D as Custom h:mm > > Then put this formula is D and drag it down the column > > =(B2-A2)-TIME(0,30,0) > > Linda > Publisher ~ ABC ~ All 'Bout Computers > Owner ~ Linda's Computer Stop > http://personal-computer-tutor.com > FREE MS Office eBook Tutorial > http://personal-computer-tutor.com/library.htm > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso- bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On > Behalf Of Gary Montgomery > Sent: Tuesday, June 25, 2002 8:53 PM > To: mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [mso] Calculating Elapsed time in Excel > > > > I am trying to design a payroll sheet.
