Ok. This may not be what's happening but it's something you should check. Look into the properties of that field and see if there is a "greater than" symbol in the Format property for that field. The Great Than symbol ( > ) tells Access to make every letter in that field capitalized...so if that symbol is in there, you won't be able to override the caps, so you need to remove it.
