Half the office is on Office 2k the other half is on XP.... Ok so, if I just leave it in Access... Is there a way import the word doc into a access report and make it look the same, or will I have to recreate the letter in Access?? How to I control the amount of spacing the fields take so that I don't have big spaces on when a name is small. -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Colli, Anthony G Sent: Thursday, January 16, 2003 5:09 PM To: 'mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [mso] Re: Access Report or Word Mail Merge April- You can do it either way. Generally I stick with the host application and if I can't do it there I look to something else. If you really need to use Word you can automate Word from Access, but then you need to programmatically check if it's installed on the users machine, what version.... -Anthony -----Original Message----- From: April Pace [mailto:4office@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, January 16, 2003 4:43 PM To: Office (E-mail) Subject: [mso] Access Report or Word Mail Merge I am trying to wrap my brain around which would be the best/easiest way to do something.... I have an Access table that has employee info including expiration dates to their license.... (I think) I know how to query out the names of the employee's who license is due to expire in the next 30 days.... With that info I want to put a button on the switchboard that will print out a "form letter" reminding the employee to show us the updated license with the new expiration date.... Do I A - Create the letter in Access Reports.... and the button will print that report.... or B to I kept the form letter in Word and when they need to print it... it will send them to Word and have the names ready to Mail Merge... and then they have to print from there.... If I should sent this to Word, to use Mail Merge.... Can I still somehow make it a one click operation for the Access user??
