[mso] Re: Access 2002: Checking For Nulls On Form Close

Jim, I am a total idiot, have already slapped myself on the head so
everyone doesn't have to! I did not properly insert the name of my text
box into Me.txtRequiredFieldOne, I left the txtRequired in front and only
replaced FieldOne. No wonder things were not going well . . . some of us
never learn!

Your question about text fields caused me to go back and check one more
time, and then the light bulb came on! I also tried the "IF
NZ(ME!txtRequiredFieldOne, "") = "" Then" suggestion by James and it works,
too. One thing I noticed, however, on either method, when I test and leave
fields blank on purpose, it seems to pull up the very first message to
user. Example, if I leave FieldTwo blank but complete FieldOne, the
message to fill in FieldOne pops up. Have tested leaving each one blank
separately, and it does not seem to matter. Leaving Fields 2 & 3 blank
still brings up the message to fill in FieldOne.

Also, since the 'fill in missing fields' message pops up when I click the
button to close the form and take me to next order, once I click OK on the
message box, it closes the form and doesn't let me back in to complete the
data entry. Is it because I'm closing the form with a 'next button' where
I have a close form/open next form command?

Thank you again, Cathy

Cathy--

I;m not sure why you'd get the error. Could it be that the text fields
are either not text fields at all? That is, are they some control that;s
not allowed to receive focus?

This may be introducing slop, but if you need to get the form up and
running, you can ignore the SetFocus stuff; that was just something I
like to include to help the user along.
