This sounds like your form fields are unbound, i.e. not linked to the
data. Or that rather than importing, you have simply linked to data and
Access is storing new data in thhta place rather than in tables within
the Access file.

Yes. I mean when I close the application, reboot, it starts over with an
empty table.

Question: If I export, and then import to another type, have I corrected
this malady? Or should save in another format, delete this database
(empty!), and make the database again? I have the field names in an
Excel file, which was my original "import." Frustrating when books don't
address issues like this!
