Yes Chris,
I aggree with you. That _is very sad if they did just toss out the trophies and
other school memorabilia and used the empty swimming pool as their dumping
ground. All of that stuff was indeed a part of our school’s history and a part
of _our legacy as that was our home away from home for many years for many of
you. I was there for almost 5 years. How sad to think that it is now all gone
and so are many of our friends and classmates. Actually, they were more than
friends to us, they were more like brothers and sisters. Well they can never
take our memory of our school days and life at good old MSB away from us, in
our hearts, the school and all that it stood for will live on forever even if
the buildings that made up the campus are all torn down and hauled away or
changed for a different purpose now. Go Raiders!!!!!!!!.

I’m not sure, and hope I’m wrong, I heard a long time ago that a lot of items
that were in the gym such as trophys, ended up being just “thrown” in the empty
swimming pool. I’m not totally sure but someone may know for sure. If that’s
what has happened, or they all were just tossed out, that is VERY sad. They all
should have been given to the Michigan Historical Museum.

Yes, I too am curious as to where a lot of that stuff ended up once the school
was closed down. I too spent a lot of time in the library reading some really
good books ect. And of course, I was in the band for a number of years. Perhaps
we will never know what happened to that important part of our history there at
good old MSB.

Well Larry, I too have wondered about what happend to the various properties of
MSB! I spent quite a bit of time in the library and would have liked some of
the books. I don't know about the trophies either. I am aware of state
auctions which take place several times a year, which could have included
furniture etc. Personally I do have the band metals with ribbons accumulated
through six years of band. Good question though Larry! Perhaps someone will
know as to where some of this stuff has gone.

Well, not to open the big debate of whether or not the school should have
been closed or not. It is! But, what about the smaller celebrity stuff? The
trophies that were won by our Raiders! I can see where a lot of stuff could
have went out to places to help teach others like all of the braille equipment,
instruments and all of the other stuff. And, someone could have used it! I sure
wantedd one of those piccolos! But, where did the trophies and awards go? We
had awards not only in athletics but also in band and forensics and probably in
things I don’t know about! Are they on display somewhere? If we talked about
this, I must have missed something. The awards may be the only things left of
our history when we all fly out of here! Intelligence is always claimed but,
rarely proven
