I am so sorry this is happening to you Vikie. You know you will be in my
prayers. As my dad always said, these golden years are at so golden. You have a

I thought I’d write a follow up to my surgery on Friday. Let’s put it this way.
It wasn't fun! Smile. When I finally woke up, the nurse told me I had been out
of
surgery for an hour and a half, having breathing problems. Then once they got
that
under control, Duane informed me he would tell me the rest when we got home. I
wished
he would have told me there, but I guess it was everyone’'e’s opinion to wait.
Anyway,
the hernia was much worse then expected, so I have a long incision, about 6
inches
long. Currently, there’s another bubble above that, so I sure hope it’s not
serious.
I guess when the doctor went in to take out the gall bladder, he found a couple
of
black stones. Didn’t say what that meant, or if he submitted them to the lab for
observation. Then, he said that when he looked at my liver it was very very
fatty.
Like I was an alcoholic. I haven’t drank alcohol in about 10 years. So, don’t
understand
that. I guess he didn’t take a biopsy or anything. Also, when he did the surgery
on the hernia, the tissue which I presume to be muscle he would connect the mesh
to, was like thin pieces of toilet paper. So, if I get another hernia he’ll
have
to put mesh from top to bottom, and from side to side of my whole abdomen area.
So, I go to see him on the 27th, and of course, I have a lot of questions for
him.
He only spoke to Duane directly after the surgery, as I was having those
previously
mentioned breathing issues. I have to be referred to a dietitian to lose
weight,
and then can’t lift over 10 pounds long after the 4 weeks previously prescribed.
So, that’s my life for now. This is the first I’ve been on my computer and can’t
lean forward to reach my speakers, have to have Duane help me sit and stand, and
cannot get constipated or push in any way. eye me the gall bladder surgery is
a
piece of cake compared to the hernia surgery. He also had to repair the old
surgery,
which is what I thought would have to be done in the first place. But over the
weekend
we got a talking controller for our dish network system, so I do have something
to
be happy about. So please continue to pray. I sure do need God’s help to get
through
this. My liver could fail, and if it does, I am not a candidate for transplant.
Sorry this is so long. Probably won’t hear from me for another few days.
