I didn’t know Mrs. Rousch, but I knew a waitress named Dorothy Rossow, who was there through my graduation. I remember the time Roger Chard wanted some more spaghetti and she brought over a full bowl of it and sat it on the table in front of Roger. He reached for it and knocked it on the floor upside down and it looked like someone had puked it and she was off and running to the dining room lobby with her hand over her mouth. It looked like a pile of worms to me and I was laughing so hard I thought I’d bust. We’d ask if she could find us at our table extra Long Johns and other favorite deserts and she smuggle them to us guys.
