Aw, thanks, Vickie. We haven’t been playing much lately. But, nowing we inspire
you is a blessing.

I remember when you did “The Cherry Tree Carol” in the 1971-72 Christmas
program. That, and the one we did in 72-73 wee my two favorites, though the
Bicentennial one wasn’t far behind that one.

I had taken piano lessons during my elementary years in public school. So when
I first started at MSB, I wanted to learn flute. I quit though, after the
first semester, because I didn’t much care for Mr. Chard and especially didn’t
care for the fact that he would take my flute away from me and play it and then
give it back to me with his breath smell inside, and his groping to take it
from me, etc. So, then in 8th grade took more piano with Mrs. Buck. I liked
her teaching and felt comfortable, but I just didn’t want to pursue piano all
that much. So, I gave up on musical instruments until Merrilee persuaded me to
learn guitar and taught me so much about playing, and her guitars sounded so
much better than the school’s . Now I have a 12-string and love it, although I
don’t play again, taking a break. I really should pick it up and learn some
more songs. Bea and her husband are such an inspiration playing for events and
at their church, etc. Duane was just impressing on me today to start playing
again. So maybe here soon it will happen. I’ve felt a little under the
weather lately, so not much in the mood for anything. But that is passing.

I didn't like piano back than when I thought of piano I could only think of
classical. Just when I started to make noises that resembled musical notes
with the French horn Mr. Chard wanted me to concentrate on playing the
drums. I think if you learn to play cornett you can play other types of wood
wind instruments. I could be wrong but I had a cousin who played one.

Bob, I hated piano! Mom wanted me to be just like Stevie Wonder. She forced
piano and organ on me! Flute was much better! I should have taken French
horn. I might have sounded better than I did with the cornert!
