Come to him, a living stone, rejected by human beings but chosen and
precious in the sight of God, and, like living stones, let yourselves be
built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual
sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. ~1 Peter 2:2-5, 9-12

He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus. Jesus said to him in
reply, "What do you want me to do for you?"
The blind man replied to him, "Master, I want to see." Jesus told him, "Go
your way; your faith has saved you." Immediately he received his sight and
followed him on the way. ~Mark 10:46-52

Want to see. And our faith can save us! We have tasted that the Lord is
good. We can come to Him, a living stone rejected by human beings. We can
be built into a spiritual house. We can see that we were once no people, but
that now we are God's people. We have received mercy. We can avoid the
values of the world, as our lives become an example for others who seek the
things that will last forever.

I pray that I may see as God wants me to see. I pray that I may offer my
gifts and talents and allow myself to be built into a spiritual house. I
pray that the example of my life may help others attain those things that
will last forever.

We pray for unity in our country and that we may build a Culture of Life. We
pray for the safety of our troops, their safe return and their families at
home. We pray for a deep and profound respect for life, and for the courage
and willingness to stand up for life. We pray for one another, for those who
have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most. Have a
good day!

May God Bless you and those you love, and keep you safe!

Father Pat

"Be still and know that I am God." ~Psalm 46:10

Newly written each day by Father Pat Umberger. Morning Prayer may not be
published by others, but is a good resource for preachers and those who attend
Daily Mass, and those who would like to keep up with the Lectionary Readings
and are not always able to attend Daily Mass.
