They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning
hooks; One nation shall not raise the sword against another, nor shall they
train for war again. ~Isaiah 2:1-5

"They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning
hooks; One nation shall not raise the sword against another, no shall they
train for war again." Isaiah's dream is the Lord's dream. We can prepare in
earnest this Advent Season. We can lay down our own weapons and seek peace
by forgiving and asking forgiveness. We can work for the justice that is the
only way to lasting peace. Peace can grow in our hearts and spread outward
from us. God's dream can become a reality as it begins with us.

I pray that I may lose interest in myself and my selfish grievances and
inflated ego. I pray that I may forgive and ask forgiveness. I pray that I
may treat others justly and that peace may begin in my heart and spread
outward. I pray that God's dream of peace can become a reality as it begins
with me.

We pray for unity in our country and that we may build a Culture of Life. We
pray for the safety of our troops, their safe return and their families at
home. We pray for a deep and profound respect for life, and for the courage
and willingness to stand up for life. We pray for one another, for those who
have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most. Have a
good day!

May God Bless you and those you love, and keep you safe!

Father Pat

"Be still and know that I am God." ~Psalm 46:10

Newly written each day by Father Pat Umberger. Morning Prayer may not be
published by others, but is a good resource for preachers and those who attend
Daily Mass, and those who would like to keep up with the Lectionary Readings
and are not always able to attend Daily Mass.
